Description:
Do you experience challenges with focus and struggle with time and task management? Do you struggle with emotional hypersensitivity or frustration tolerance? Do you find it hard to follow through on tasks or commitments, or to be reliable and consistent?
If so, you are not alone. Many people experience significant daily challenges with conditions related to executive functioning. These difficulties are often associated with ADHD, and may be exacerbated by our complex, fast-paced, high-tech lives. Such conditions often leave people with a sense of self-doubt, shame, or unworthiness. The good news is that research on mindfulness and compassion-based practices suggests that, with appropriate skills and supports, it is possible to understand and function more effectively with care and wisdom.
In this daylong, we’ll explore how these challenges interrupt daily functioning, and how mindfulness, forgiveness, and self-compassion practices can be used to meet ADHD-related difficulties with greater clarity and kindness.

Teachings are appropriate for health care professionals as well as the general public.
This program is designed for healthcare providers who support patients with ADHD and related executive function challenges, as well as clinicians who notice these patterns in themselves. The material offers perspectives on attention and emotional regulation that can deepen clinical understanding of the difficulties patients often face. Participants will explore mindfulness and compassion-based practices to support their own focus, emotional steadiness, and resilience in high-demand care environments. The program addresses clinician well-being by offering practical tools to work with distractibility, overwhelm, and self-criticism. These skills can help support safer decision-making, more attuned patient interactions, and effective collaboration in interdisciplinary teams.
Learning Objectives for participating health care professionals-
At the end of the program, you will be better able to:
- Explain how mindfulness-based interventions can improve attention, executive functioning, and emotional regulation in individuals with ADHD or attention-related challenges.
- Describe how difficulties with focus, time and task management, emotional hypersensitivity, frustration tolerance, and follow-through can impact daily functioning and contribute to self-doubt, shame, and perceived unreliability.
- Explain how compassion and forgiveness-oriented practices may reduce self-criticism and support healthier responses to emotional reactivity, shame, and feelings of unworthiness.
- Apply mindfulness and self-compassion practices to support personal steadiness, reliability, and resilience in clinical or high-demand care environments.
