Description:
This day of Insight Meditation is an invitation to develop the noble qualities of mindfulness and friendliness. Cultivating a relaxed, kind, and curious attention to our moment-to-moment experience, we can recover our natural balance, ease and clarity. The capacity to sustain attention in the present moment enables us to connect with ourselves more intimately—helping us to understand the causes of both suffering and happiness and to feel more free and at ease. Instructions for both sitting and walking meditation will be offered along with time for questions.
Whether you are taking your first daylong retreat or your hundredth, you are welcome. No experience required; open to all. Just come as you are, and learn to meet this moment fully.

Sustained attention to present-moment experience, including bodily sensation, feeling tone, and mind states, is a foundational mindfulness skill with a substantial evidence base for supporting attentional control and emotion regulation. For clinicians, these capacities translate into greater steadiness of mind and reduced automatic reactivity, both relevant to maintaining a stable, compassionate presence in clinical settings. This program offers direct instruction and guided practice in these foundational skills through sitting and walking meditation, providing participants with a clear experiential and conceptual grounding they can continue to develop in their own practice and incorporate in their professional work.
Learning Objectives for participating health care professionals-
At the end of the program, participants will be better able to:
- Describe key components of mindfulness from both didactic and experiential perspectives, including present-moment attention, nonjudgmental awareness, and wise response, in ways relevant to clinical care.
- Utilize mindfulness of the body practices (breath, posture, somatic sensation) and explain how sustained bodily awareness supports emotion regulation and stress reduction.
- Describe mindfulness of feeling tone and mind states (such as worry, irritation, or fatigue) to recognize early affective reactivity and cultivate a more stable, compassionate clinical presence.
Attendance policy for CE participants:
- Full, live attendance is required. Incomplete attendance nullifies CE eligibility, as board regulations do not permit partial credit for partial attendance.
- Sign in and out at the CE table, on time.
- Submit your professional information within one week of receiving the link. This link will be emailed within 2 business days after the program to all participants who met the attendance requirements.
