Description:
Many of us find it hard to believe that we have what it takes to do this practice. Doubt comes less in the form of not trusting the practice, and more in the form of not trusting ourselves. Seeing into this doubt with compassion and wisdom can not only help us be free from the pain it causes, but it can open us to the possibility of trusting ourselves and all aspects of our experience.

This day of practice is an invitation to understand and find freedom from self-doubt. With this freedom, it becomes possible to use the fullness of our experience to guide us along the path—the trivial distractions, the difficult patterns, our uniqueness, and our intuition. Together, we can tap into the fullness of our potential in this life.

Sliding Scale: Our sliding scale options for this program include financial support for our teachers. Please consider paying at the highest rate that you can afford: your generosity supports the teachers as well as Spirit Rock, staff, and your fellow practitioners.

Teachings are appropriate for health care professionals as well as the general public. Healthcare providers often encounter patients who struggle with self-doubt, which can manifest as uncertainty about their ability to manage their health or adhere to treatment plans. Through compassionate inquiry and wisdom, clinicians can help patients navigate this doubt, fostering trust in themselves and their capacity to heal. Embracing this practice can liberate patients from the distress of self-doubt, empowering them to utilize their entire spectrum of experiences, including challenges and intuition, to navigate their healthcare journey effectively. Moreover, by addressing their own self-doubt in a similarly compassionate manner, healthcare providers can enhance their ability to empathize with patients and cultivate a deeper sense of confidence in their clinical practice, ultimately fostering more meaningful therapeutic relationships.

Learning Objectives for participating health care professionals-
At the end of the program you will be better able to:

  • Apply mindfulness-based approaches to address self-doubt when working with clients;
  • Identify the psychological manifestations of self-doubt in clinical practice;
  • Assess mindfulness-based interventions as a means of enhancing self-trust and self-awareness in clinical practice, assessing efficacy in reducing self-doubt and promoting therapist well-being;
  • Evaluate the role of self-compassion in addressing and alleviating self-doubt among health professionals, with a focus on cultivating practices for self-awareness and self-acceptance.
