Program to be held on the land only

Description:
Mindfulness and love are essential and beautiful qualities of an awakened life. Mindfulness leads to clarity, insight, and understanding. Compassion is an attitude of heart that cares deeply about life’s challenges. Combined, they allow a kind embrace of the pain and struggles that arise in ourselves, each other, and the world. In this heartfelt weekend of meditation, we will discover how these qualities are essential in responding to the inevitable stresses and suffering that are part of being human. We will explore how they are necessary in any journey of awakening and in learning to live wisely and kindly in the midst of difficulty.

Participants will cultivate awareness through mindfulness meditations, and develop a compassionate orientation through heart-opening practices. Teachings will focus on the integration of love and awareness as a response to suffering and pain. We will also inquire into what obstructs the natural expression of the heart.

Teachings are appropriate for health care professionals as well as the general public. This program will offer tools to enhance emotional resilience and cultivate compassionate presence in the work of healthcare providers. By integrating mindfulness and loving awareness, care providers can approach their own stress and the suffering of others with greater clarity and empathy. The practices introduced in the program help caregivers stay grounded, preventing burnout while offering authentic, heart-centered support. Additionally, exploring the obstacles to love and awareness can empower care providers to recognize and overcome challenges that arise in their caregiving roles.

Learning Objectives for participating health care professionals-
At the end of the program, you will be better able to:

  • Utilize mindfulness practices to enhance clarity and emotional regulation in response to stress and adversity;
  • Utilize compassion practices to improve empathy and reduce burnout in caregiving context;
  • List psychological and emotional barriers that obstruct the natural expression of love and compassion in challenging situations;
  • Utilize loving awareness practices for stress reduction and the promotion of emotional balance in caregiving environments.
