A Benefit for Spirit Rock

Description:
We live in a time of great promise and great peril. How can we respond to threats and injustices with effective action, while also preserving our own compassion, inner balance, and well-being? Together, we’ll explore answers to this question, informed by practical brain science. This workshop will emphasize experiential practice, meeting ourselves where we are, and learning together how to walk more evenly on uneven ground. Our time together will include guided meditation, discussion, and Q&A.

Sliding Scale: Please consider paying at the highest rate that you can afford. This program is a Benefit for Spirit Rock and Rick is generously offering his time in support of our center. Further scholarships are not available for this Benefit.

Benefactor – $108
Sustainer – $75
Basic – $50
Scholarship Rate (BIPOC, M/K) – $25

Important Note for CEC participants: If you are interested in receiving continuing education credits (CECs), you must register and pay for CECs prior to the start of the program (no retroactive CECs will be given) and you must attend the entire program. Please review the CEC information below.

Teachings are appropriate for health care professionals as well as the general public. This program equips healthcare providers with strategies to manage their own emotions and maintain inner balance, enabling them to better support patients experiencing anxiety from global injustices. By integrating practical brain science and experiential practices such as meditation, providers can enhance their resilience and empathy, fostering a more effective and compassionate response to patient suffering, and develop tools to help clients navigate and cope with these fears effectively.

Learning Objectives for participating health care professionals-
At the end of the program you will be better able to:

  • Identify and apply brain science principles to enhance your emotional regulation and maintain inner balance in response to threats and injustices, and share these principles with clients;
  • Demonstrate, and share with clients, the ability to integrate experiential mindfulness practices to cultivate and preserve compassion and well-being while taking effective action in challenging situations.

Continuing Education content level: Introductory
