Description:
Let’s first debunk the myth that our mind should be completely quiet and empty of all thoughts. This is a high bar to meet during our meditation practice, and certainly not the reality of a healthy mind. Just as the tongue tastes and the nose smells, the mind thinks… it’s its job! The goal of meditation is not about how quiet and still our mind (and body) can get, but how we respond to a mind that is overwhelmed, creative, anxious, dreamy, neurodiverse, and even a little sleepy.
And we do this by allowing the wisdom of the body to take the lead.
This day is not meant to exclude, pathologize, or diagnose anyone, but to normalize that there is a lot happening in the mind, and explore how mindfulness of the body can support us in untangling and regulating the nervous system to reduce some of that anxiety.
