Description:
In moments of great change, the practices of mindfulness, lovingkindness, and equanimity are timeless treasures. Cultivating these essential qualities helps us to steady the heart, calm the spirit, and open the door for courageous compassion. Join us in community to remember how loving awareness, kindness, and compassion can nourish our own lives and serve the peace and well-being of those around us amidst the uncertainty of these wild times. Our day together will include stories, guided and silent meditations, Dharma teachings, reflections, and Q&A.

Teachings are appropriate for health care professionals as well as the general public. Health care professionals face systemic pressures and emotional demands that can lead to burnout, moral distress, and compassion fatigue. This program offers mindfulness, lovingkindness, and equanimity practices that foster emotional resilience, ethical clarity, and a grounded capacity to care for others without becoming overwhelmed. By reconnecting to compassionate awareness and inner steadiness, clinicians can sustain their well-being while offering presence and healing amidst complexity and crisis.
Learning Objectives for participating health care professionals-
At the end of the program, you will be better able to:
- Describe how mindfulness-based practices can reduce emotional reactivity and promote psychological flexibility in the face of uncertainty and suffering.
- Utilize lovingkindness and compassion practices to mitigate symptoms of burnout and enhance prosocial behavior in health care settings.
- Utilize equanimity practices as a protective factor for clinicians’ mental health during uncertain times.
- Integrate principles of courageous compassion and ethical intention into patient care.
