Description:
In a world of constant noise, this day is an invitation to return to the wisdom beneath it—to pause, listen deeply, and reconnect with the heart of who you are.

Through meditation, breath, yoga, chanting, music, storytelling, contemplation, time in nature, and rest, we’ll nourish the nervous system while exploring the stories that shape our lives. Drawing from the wisdom of the purāṇas (sacred myths), we’ll gently inquire into the narratives we’ve inherited, the ones we’ve unconsciously repeated, and the possibility of living a story that is more awake, courageous, and true.

Bhakti—the yoga of the heart—reminds us that every emotion can become fuel for transformation. Chanting is a love letter to life, inviting us to offer our voices to something greater while awakening our innate capacity for love, grace, resilience, and devotion.

Join Janet Stone for a day of practice, reflection, community, and stillness as we step away from the noise and back toward ourselves.

IMPORTANT – Program accessibility note:
FOR ALL (On land or Online Attendees): This program will include a non-heated, vigorous yoga asana practice. If this does not sound like an appropriate fit right now for you, we encourage you to reconsider and attend one of our many other accessible programs.

FOR On-land Attendees Only: In addition to the vigorous yoga asana practice mentioned above, our day together will involve a long, strenuous hike that includes steep sections of both uphill and downhill. You must be in good physical shape and not require any mobility assistance or devices, other than a typical trekking pole or stick for this program. (This program cannot support those with limited mobility or those needing a mobility scooter or wheelchair.)

Suggested packing list for On-land Attendees:

  • sturdy, closed-toe shoes with good tread (such as hiking boots)
  • Warm clothing layers for all weather conditions
  • Water bottle
  • Sunscreen and sunglasses
  • Optional – trekking poles or walking sticks
  • Optional – small daypack

Sliding Scale: Our sliding scale options for this program include financial support for our teachers. Please consider paying at the highest rate that you can afford: your generosity enables us to offer scholarships and support teachers.

Access to Recording

  • Registration includes unlimited access to this program’s recording. You must register by the deadline above. The recording will be available in ~10 days after the program.

On-Land Attendees

  • The on-land program will take place in the Community Meditation Center (CMC) in the Great Hall.
  • Bring a lunch and a water bottle. Lunch is not provided.
  • This is NOT a residential retreat. Overnight accommodations are not provided.

Cancellation Policy for On-Land: Daylongs, Multiday Programs (1-3 days), Family Programs, CE fees:

  • NO REFUNDS.
  • Open Credit or Donation to Spirit Rock = cancel 2 or more business days prior to program (Pacific Time)
  • No Open Credit = cancel less than 2 business days prior
