A benefit for Spirit Rock and the Mindfulness in Law Society (MILS)

Program to be held on the land only

Description:
In today’s challenging times, it is critical that legal professionals remain vigilant and ready to act. At the same time, we must also carve out time to rest and reconnect.

This daylong offers legal professionals the opportunity to step away from the urgency of daily life and into the serenity and beauty of Spirit Rock Meditation Center—a 411-acre refuge of oak woodlands tucked away in Marin County, just 30 miles north of San Francisco. We invite you to join colleagues and friends, in community and in silence, allowing your body, mind, heart, and nervous system to rest and recalibrate. Our time together is designed to deepen connections and increase our capacity to meet professional and personal challenges with greater clarity, resilience, and compassion.

This special day will include noble silence, periods of sitting and walking meditation, and plenty of opportunities for conversation and sharing with colleagues and friends. The program will also offer 3 hours of continuing legal education credit. Please be sure to bring comfortable clothing suitable for both indoor and outdoor meditation, as well as an open heart and a willingness to slow down. Lunch will be provided.

This daylong is open to all and especially designed for lawyers, law professors and law students, alternative dispute resolution professionals, and all other legal professionals—whether you’re new to meditation or have an established practice.
All proceeds will benefit Spirit Rock and the Mindfulness in Law Society (MILS), a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the wellbeing of the legal community through mindfulness meditation, yoga, and other contemplative practices.

Come as you are. Leave with renewed clarity, balance, and a deeper sense of belonging in the mindful lawyering community. This retreat is co-sponsored by the California Bar Association and the Sandra Day O’Connor School of Law at Arizona State University.

Sliding Scale Rates: Our sliding scale options will support Mindfulness in Law Society and Spirit Rock. Please consider paying at the highest rate that you can afford: your generosity supports the teachers as well as Mindfulness in Law Society, Spirit Rock and your fellow practitioners who need to pay less. Further scholarships are not available for this Benefit.**
