Description:
Forgiveness is one of the most profound—and challenging—practices we can undertake. Whether you carry regret for your own actions or pain from the actions of others, this daylong program offers a compassionate path toward acceptance and greater ease.
Through guided meditations, teachings, and reflection, we’ll explore forgiveness as a skillful heart-centered practice rooted in mindfulness and compassion. We’ll cultivate lovingkindness (mettā), mindful acknowledgment, and compassion—qualities that help loosen the grip of painful memories and support a movement toward greater well-being.
You are welcome to bring whatever you’re carrying: remorse, grief, anger, guilt, or sorrow. Together, we’ll learn to honor these emotions without being overwhelmed by them. If you’ve been hurt by others, you’ll find tools to hold them accountable while maintaining your own sense of integrity and care. If you feel weighed down by your own actions, you’ll discover a way forward beyond guilt and shame.
The day includes teachings on the art of forgiveness, guided sitting and walking meditation, periods of noble silence, and a guided forgiveness practice. All are welcome—no previous meditation experience is necessary.
Online Only: We are offering this program online via Zoom.

Forgiveness is an empirically studied psychological process with documented relevance to client care across mental health and health care disciplines. For professionals, the capacity to understand and work skillfully with forgiveness-related themes — including guilt, shame, grief, and interpersonal rupture — directly informs clinical competency. This program provides structured instruction in mindfulness-based forgiveness practices, compassion cultivation, lovingkindness (mettā), and the regulation of difficult emotions, equipping professionals with conceptual frameworks and direct experiential familiarity that support more attuned, effective work with clients navigating these processes. Periods of noble silence are used as a structured instructional method, providing participants with direct experiential exposure to the sustained mindfulness states they may seek to cultivate in their own professional practice and support in their clients. Credit is awarded for instructional time only and does not include the forgiveness ceremony.
Learning Objectives for participating health care professionals-
At the end of the program, participants will be better able to:
- Explain to clients how lovingkindness, mindful acknowledgment, and compassion function as integral components of forgiveness practice.
- Apply forgiveness-based practices with clients to address remorse, grief, guilt, and shame.
- Identify mindfulness-based techniques when working with clients who are caught in habitual patterns of anger or self-blame.
- Apply a structured self-forgiveness practice with clients to address remorse and guilt and support movement toward acceptance, clarity, and resolution.
