Description:
The practice of mindful eating can be a doorway into greater awareness, compassion, and freedom from reactive patterns and habitual patterns around food and eating. How can the practice of mindfulness and the brahmavihāras support more joy, compassion, lovingkindness, and equanimity in relationship to eating and other aspects of our lives?

Together we will explore teachings of freedom from suffering and craving in relation to food and our own lives. We will learn several foundational mindfulness and mindful eating practices that we can begin to use daily to support a more conscious and compassionate relationship with eating. This workshop will also introduce research-based tools and practices to help us attune to our inner wisdom that can support wise and beneficial choices with compassion and clear seeing.

Online Only: We are offering this program online via Zoom.

Research supports the effectiveness of mindfulness-based eating awareness practices in reducing stress- and emotion-driven eating patterns, strengthening interoceptive awareness, and cultivating compassionate responses to food-related distress. Licensed professionals working with clients who struggle with their relationship to food and eating will find this program directly applicable to their clinical and professional practice. Foundational practices introduced in this workshop draw from Mindfulness-Based Eating Awareness Training (MB-EAT) and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) — both with established peer-reviewed research bases — in her teaching of these practices.
