Program to be held on the land only

Description:
Please join us on the land at Spirit Rock for a day of Insight Meditation practice. This day will be held in noble silence with alternating sitting and walking meditation as well as teachings that support the cultivation of equanimity (upekkhā)—the capacity to stand in the center of things with a calm, wise, and clear heart. Our time together is designed both for those newer to practice who are curious about retreat, as well as more experienced practitioners wanting to reconnect. All are welcome!

We at Spirit Rock recognize we are located on Coast Miwok lands and the taking of these lands was supported legally through a code of laws called the Doctrine of Discovery. The Doctrine of Discovery is still in effect today. As a small act of repair on the weekend of Thanksgiving, we will invite contributions to support Huukuiko, Inc., a 501(c)3 non-profit dedicated to supporting the Indigenous spiritual practices, traditions, wisdom teachings, and culture of the Coast Miwok Tribal Council of Marin, the land’s original caretakers.
