ALL TWEENS IN MIDDLE SCHOOL ARE WELCOME (11-14 year olds)

Description:
In this five-week series, learn meditation, speak your truth, relax deeply, and develop your mind – all while hanging out with other great people your age. We will take the time to reconnect with ourselves in order to experience more peace, wisdom, and compassion through the practices of mindfulness and Insight meditation.

Classes will include movement, community-building games, meditation instruction, and council – a practice of witnessing and contributing to the group’s collective wisdom. This Fall series is offered to all tweens in Middle School.

Class dates are: Sep 19, Sep 26, Oct 3, Oct 10, Oct 17; all classes including the 5th session are held from 6:00-8:00 p.m.

Important Note: All participants must attend the first class meeting. Students are expected to attend at least 4 sessions.

Tentative General Schedule (all times listed in Pacific Time):
6:00 – 6:15 p.m. Welcome, virtual altar, poetry, grounding
6:15 – 6:45 p.m. Check in
6:45 – 7:00 p.m. Meditation
7:00 – 7:10 p.m. Break
7:10 – 7:20 p.m. Game/relational mindfulness
7:20 – 7:30 p.m. Mindful movement
7:30 – 7:45 p.m. Counsel/theme of day
7:45 – 7:55 p.m. Closing ritual, poetry, lightning rounds, dedication of merit
