Gavrila Abramson

Gavrila Abramson is a long-time mindfulness practitioner and educator, and somatic psychotherapist. Over the last half decade, Gavrila has taught mindfulness to various populations around the world. From lawyers to incarcerated people, pre-teens to those in hospice care, Gavrila knows that mindfulness can be accessible to all and is devoted to finding the entry point for each unique person. Gavrila sees individuals, families, and couples as a somatic psychotherapist – using mindfulness, ancestral healing, and embodiment as foundations to the work. As a member of the first-ever Dedicated Practitioners Program in Trauma-Sensitive Mindfulness and a co-founder of the Trauma Aware Mindfulness Collective, Gavrila brings a trauma-informed approach to teaching and building curriculum. She teaches the Middle School Meditation Series at Spirit Rock and staffs teen retreats with Inward Bound Mindfulness Education and Spirit Rock. Based in California, Gavrila participates in meditation retreats to inform her teachings, organizes and leads transformational retreats, and offers one-on-one and group therapy, in person and online. She is continuously humbled by the freedom and contentment that can be found through connection with the body, honoring the grieving process, and tending of unresolved trauma.
