Program to be held on the land only
Description:
Desire is a natural part of the human experience. It shows up in many forms—shopping, food, sex, music, ambition, money—as well as in our longing for love, healing, or enlightenment. But what is the Buddha’s advice around desire? Is all desire problematic? Are there different kinds of desire, and how can we differentiate them? Is there a healthy way to relate to desire?
In this daylong, we’ll explore the nature of desire through the lens of the Four Noble Truths and Insight Meditation. Through guided meditations, Dharma talks, and inquiry, we’ll learn to recognize different types of craving that arise in daily life and learn to meet these with awareness, compassion, and wisdom. Together, we’ll deepen our understanding of desire and its role in our inner life, and practice ways to cultivate contentment, presence, and a more spacious relationship with wanting—not by suppressing desire, but by finding freedom within it.
Open to new and experienced practitioners.
