Program to be held on the land and online!

Description:
Deep rest states are powerful for healing and resetting our nervous systems from chronic stress, helping to direct us towards ease and equanimity. For most of us, however, deep rest states are missing from our lives. During our time together, you will have the opportunity to deepen your knowledge of the science, art, and practice of deep rest and stress reduction. We will explore the science behind the restorative effects of meditation and mind/body practices. We will also experience deep rest states using various types of breathing practices, sensory immersion, and restorative yoga, with live contemplative music from Nichol Joy Chase.

Sliding Scale: Our sliding scale options for this program include financial support for our teachers. Please consider paying at the highest rate that you can afford: your generosity supports the teachers as well as Spirit Rock, staff, and your fellow practitioners.

Benefactor – $108
Sustainer – $75
Basic – $50
Scholarship Rate (BIPOC, M/K) – $25

Teachings are appropriate for health care professionals as well as the general public. Healthcare providers play a crucial role in supporting patients through illness, end-of-life care, and death. Through their own practice of befriending mortality in this workshop, healthcare providers can be more empowered to acknowledge and discuss the topic of death with their patients, helping them align their lives with their values, live more fully, and prepare fearlessly for the end, ultimately providing holistic care.

Learning Objectives for participating health care professionals-
At the end of the program you will be better able to:

  • Describe the psychological and physiological mechanisms underlying deep rest states;
  • Distinguish between rejuvenation from positive stress and restoration from deep rest states, and explain how they work together for optimal longevity.
