Description:
The New Year is a threshold. It is an opportunity to release accumulated physical tensions and habitual thought patterns, so we can begin the coming year in wellness with a relaxed, nourished body and spacious heart. Pausing for a full day of embodiment practices and Dharma wisdom, we will cultivate reverence and care for our bodies and allow for the experiences of the past year to be perceived with wise attention.
In our day together, we will practice the somatics of mettā – body-centered mettā meditation, well-supported yoga asanas, and gentle somatic movements to unwind tension in the body and free the breath rhythm. Our movement practices will awaken sensations and attune us to the body’s innate wisdom. Trust in this embodied wisdom will be the foundation and guidance for how we will “be” with whatever arises in the year ahead.
