Exploring our Practice off the Cushion: The 10 Paramis as a Guide for Liberation in a Wounded World
Description:
Between the global pandemic, food instability, the impact of multiple climate catastrophes, xenophobia, homophobia, paternalism, and racism…the wounds of the world can feel like too much to bear at times.
Toni Morrison wrote, “I know the world is bruised and bleeding. And though it is important not to ignore its pain, it is also critical to refuse to succumb to its malevolence. Like failure, chaos contains information that can lead to knowledge, even wisdom. That is how civilizations heal.”
The 10 pāramīs are qualities or states of heart and mind that lead the way to liberation. They work together to integrate the path of awakening into everyday life. We’ll explore these 10 attainments in formal meditation practice, and take the practice off the cushion into the world as we discover not only what the Buddha said, but also how he lived and learned.
All are welcome! No one will be turned away for lack of funds as space allows. For more information, please email Registration@spiritrock.org.
*Recording Note: If you would like access to the recording, you must register by the deadline above. You will have ~90 days from the original program date to view the recording of this program.
