Description:
Many practitioners carry a quiet wish to go deeper—if only there were more time on the cushion, fewer demands, a retreat around the corner. This half-day starts from a different premise: that daily life, with all its relationships and ordinary obligations, is itself a rich place for practice to unfold.

The Buddha’s teaching on right effort is often heard through the lens of productivity and self-improvement. This half-day offers wise relatedness as another way in: an embodied, workable approach to wise effort, created for us to go deep in the midst of life, in formal meditation and the wholeness of our days.

We’ll practice establishing an available, aligned presence from which to meet the moment, whatever it holds. Through this, we’ll discover how wholesome qualities of ease, curiosity, and steadiness can arise spontaneously, without trying so hard.

Established practitioners and those newer to this approach are welcome.

Online Only: We are offering this program online via Zoom.

Sliding Scale: Our sliding scale options for this program include financial support for our teachers. Please consider paying at the highest rate that you can afford: your generosity supports the teachers as well as Spirit Rock and your fellow practitioners who need to pay less.
