Beyond the Dream: Martin Luther King's Teachings for Today (KH1G27)

Registration closes at 8:30am (Pacific Time) on January 17, 2026. A waiting list will be created if the program fills early. A recording* will be available following the program.

Description:
What might Martin Luther King Jr.’s teachings ask of us today, and how do they intersect with the timeless teachings of the Buddha?

In this interactive training, we’ll go beyond the familiar “I Have a Dream” speech to explore King’s deeper vision of nonviolence as a powerful practice for confronting injustice, transforming conflict, and building beloved community. We’ll discuss the core principles of Kingian nonviolence while asking what they mean in a time of deepening division, political violence, ecological crisis, and social upheaval.

Together, we’ll explore how nonviolence can be fierce and compassionate, strategic and transformative, and how King’s teachings can help us meet the challenges of our own time without losing our humanity.
