Description:
The teaching of Dependent Origination (Paticca-samuppāda: Pāli) is considered to be one of the most profound of the Buddha’s teachings. Understanding this concept is crucial to realizing how to alleviate human suffering—our own and that in the world around us. Through reflections, discussions, meditations, and practical exercises, we will delve into the twelve links of this essential teaching, uncovering how our thoughts, actions, and experiences depend on past conditions and arise interdependently. We will investigate Dependent Origination from a variety of perspectives, including teachings from the Pāli Canon, contemporary reflections, as well as its practical application to our everyday lives.

Each class will combine study with meditation to foster a deeper understanding of how to ease suffering and cultivate compassion for ourselves and our communities. This course invites you to transform your perspective and deepen your spiritual journey on the path of liberation, and it is recommended for those who have had at least a year of meditation practice and study.
