Rooted in Renewal: Earth Wisdom Gathering Retreat (802R26)
Carol Cano, MA, Konda Mason, Venerable Dayananda, Renda Dionne Madrigal, PhD and Jonathan Relucio
May 11 - 15, 2026
By Invitation Only
This retreat will take place at the Garrison Institute in New York State
Description
In these turbulent times of injustice and upheaval, this BIPOC-centered, all-welcome retreat offers a sacred pause for those working on the frontlines of social and environmental change. Guided by the teachings of land, lineage, and the Dharma, we will gather to remember that resilience grows from rootedness. Through mindfulness meditation, ritual, Buddha-dharma, and restorative practices, we will return to the wisdom of the Earth as a source of clarity, balance, and strength. This retreat is an invitation to ground our activism in stillness, to heal what has been strained, and to remember that the work of liberation begins within.
The Garrison Institute campus includes historic buildings set on a wooded hillside overlooking the Hudson River. The main building is multi-level and there are no elevators; access between floors and across the grounds requires the use of stairs and walking on an uneven outdoor path.
Invited guests attend at no cost. At the end of the retreat, there will be an invitation to offer dana to the teachers and to Spirit Rock Meditation Center.
