Description:
Our Dharma & Recovery group explores the intersection of recovery with Buddhist teachings and practices. We welcome all people who identify with any of the full range of addictions, from substances to behaviors, as well as habitual thought and emotional patterns. Beginners and experienced meditators are welcome.

This is not a 12 Step group, but we look to ways that members of the community can support each other on the path of recovery. Each gathering begins with a period of guided meditation, and new meditators are welcome. There is time for discussion about meditation practice and a recovery/Dharma theme each month. Online: We are offering this program online via Zoom for you to join us remotely.

NEW Class time: 6:00pm – 7:30pm Pacific Time on the second Friday of the month.

Walt Opie

Walt Opie first discovered insight meditation at Spirit Rock in 1993 and has attended residential retreats since 2005. He is a graduate of both Spirit Rock’s Community Dharma Leaders program (CDL4) and the four-year IMS Teacher Training Program (2017-2021).
