Description:

The emphasis during this retreat will be on the continuity of awareness in all activities, which stabilizes and balances the mind. Relaxed acceptance of our moment-to-moment experience will become the platform for investigation and wisdom. Particular attention will be paid to the attitudes in the mind that condition our understanding. This retreat is suitable for both beginner and experienced meditators, and we welcome people from all life experiences, backgrounds, and communities.

Online Audit/Livestream Option: An online audit option is available for this retreat. The audit option offers online access to the teacher-led meditation instructions and Dharma talks broadcasted live from Spirit Rock’s Upper Meditation Hall. Recordings of each teacher-led session will be posted within 24 hours after a session ends. All video recordings will be available for you to play and replay for 90 days after the retreat ends.

Important note regarding the audit option, it does not offer interactions with the teachers (i.e., no practice meetings, no ability to ask questions during Q&A sessions, etc.), nor does it offer online small groups or affinity groups.

This retreat is silent except for teacher-led Q&A, small groups, or other practice meetings.

Selection Details:
Applications are accepted between Tuesday, November 26 and Tuesday, December 17, 2024 (end of the day). All applications are assigned a random number for the selection process. The lottery-style selection process helps us balance many factors to create equity, diversity, inclusion, and access across our community of practitioners. The factors include: age, gender, scholarship needs & availability, affinity group participation, and stage of practice (new to experienced). Applications received after the close date are automatically placed on the wait list (and will not be included in the first round of selections). Notification rounds can move quickly in the first few weeks following the first acceptances, so we recommend staying ready. You may be accepted sooner than you realize!

You will be notified about the selection results within two weeks of the application close date. If you have been offered a space, you will have two days to pay a deposit to accept/hold the space. If you don’t accept the space within this deadline, we will offer it to the next person in line.
