Yogetsu Akasaka

Yogetsu Akasaka is a Zen priest, musician, and transformational guide whose work bridges ancient contemplative wisdom with modern sound artistry. A former street-performing beatboxer turned ordained Zen practitioner, he is internationally known for weaving breathwork, voice meditation, and 432 Hz handpan into live-looped, once-in-a-lifetime sonic journeys that open a doorway to presence and profound self-discovery.

Drawing on years of monastic training in the Japanese Sōtō Zen tradition, Yogetsu brings a rare capacity to hold silence and sound as complementary medicines. His voice-based meditations invite participants to tune into the subtle vibration of their own breath and tone—often leading to deep relaxation, release of long-held emotions, and an experience of spacious stillness or “emptiness” that Zen calls ku.

Yogetsu has shared his work at leading spiritual and wellness festivals worldwide—including Shambala (UK), Colours of Ostrava (Czech Republic), Wonderfruit (Thailand), Dreamersland (Poland), HOLOLIFE Summit (Estonia)—as well as in retreat centers, temples, and corporate well-being gatherings. His viral “Heart Sutra Beatbox Remix” introduced millions to the beauty of Buddhist chant through a contemporary lens.

Through every session, Yogetsu aims to create a safe, sacred field where music becomes more than entertainment—a practice of awareness, healing, and reconnection to our original, unconditioned nature.
