Patrick Brown
Patrick Brown is originally from Chicago and approaches his teaching with an open heart and spirit. With a deep commitment to expanding access to the Dharma for Black people, Queer people, and other marginalized communities, his teachings carry a racial equity lens. Patrick entered the dharma through the doorway of suffering and burning out of a non-profit job, and considers the practice essential to his healing and wellbeing. Patrick approaches the practice with curiosity and rigor while holding deep compassion and forgiveness practice. A graduate of the EBMC Commit to Dharma Program and Spirit Rock’s Community Dharma Leaders 5 Training Program, he has held leadership roles on the EBMC L-Sangha, EBMC People of Color Sangha, the EBMC Alphabet Sangha and the Alphabet Brothers of Color Deep Refuge Sangha. Patrick teaches across the California Bay area, Chicago and in Washington DC. He has also practiced and studied in Thailand, Burma and India.
