
Judi Cohen
Judi Cohen is an attorney, law professor, and 35-year student of mindfulness and yoga. She is a lecturer at Berkeley Law, where she teaches Mindfulness for the Legal Mind, a course encouraging students to explore mindfulness to support personal wellbeing; create a more just, equitable society; and cultivate a more harmonious relationship with the planet. Judi is also the founder of Warrior One, which offers programs for legal professionals that integrate traditional mindfulness, contemplative neuroscience, and the psychology of the legal mind. In 2015, Judi co-created Warrior One’s Mindfulness in Law Teacher Training, an eight-month program for legal professionals to deepen their mindfulness practice and learn to teach mindfulness in the profession. In 2016, she began the Wake Up Call for Lawyers—a weekly, live-online mindfulness gathering and podcast approaching its 500th episode. A founding board member and past co-president of the board of directors for the Mindfulness in Law Society, Judi currently serves as chair of the MILS Teachers Collective. She is also a co-facilitator of Yes World’s Law and Social Change Jam, an annual gathering of legal professionals exploring personal, interpersonal, and systemic change in the law and world. Judi lives in Sonoma, California, on the lands of the Pomo, Miwok, and Coast Miwok tribes.
