Emily Horn
Emily Horn is a Certified Mindfulness Teacher (CMT-P) through the International Mindfulness Teachers Association and an authorized Insight Meditation teacher. Deeply influenced by her studies at Naropa University and with over a year of practice on Insight Meditation retreats in her twenties, Emily has dedicated the last 15 years to guiding individuals toward greater clarity and self-awareness. She has led retreats worldwide, mentored and trained hundreds of mindfulness teachers, and collaborated on pioneering mindfulness apps like Buddhify, including early explorations of mindfulness in VR & AI.
She has been called a “power player of the mindfulness movement” by Wired Magazine, and her work is featured in 10% Happier, Boston Children’s Hospital’s Comfort Ability Project, and Buddhist Geeks. For over eight years, she has mentored teachers in a mindfulness certification program led by Jack Kornfield, PhD, and Tara Brach, PhD.
Recently, alongside her sister, Dr. Kirsten West, Emily co-founded Mindful Wellness Space—a collaborative healing environment integrating meditation, functional medicine, chiropractic care, acupuncture, and other restorative modalities.
Emily grew up Episcopalian in the Southern Appalachian region of the United States, and she now resides in Swannanoa, North Carolina, with her husband, Vincent Horn—a groundbreaking meditation teacher and podcast founder—and their son, Zander. She bridges ancient wisdom with a secular, science-backed perspective, offering a grounded yet innovative path to well-being. For her, a mindful life is simply learning to dance with the full human experience: from transcendence to dirty dishes, evolutionary edges to ancient roots, solitary practice to deepening relationships.
