RETREAT TO BE HELD ON THE LAND!

Description:
The Buddha encouraged maraṇasati practice—mindfulness of death—as part of living an awakened life. This practice supports our appreciation of the preciousness of human birth and the development of equanimity with the difficulties of existence. It helps us gain freedom from rigidity and clinging through a more expansive perspective of the inevitable and natural process of letting go. Maraṇasati matures our insight into impermanence and change, nourishing a skillful orientation to both life and death. In the retreat we will utilize the skills of loving awareness, compassion, and investigation in sitting meditation practice. In addition to silent practice, there will be one period of interactive contemplative inquiry each day to help metabolize our understanding of death.

This retreat is silent except for teacher-led Q&A, small groups, a daily interactive session, or other practice meetings.

Benefactor Rate – $2,050
Sustainer Rate – $1,575
Base – $1,025
Reduced Rate – $650
Scholarship Rate (BIPOC, Mudita/Karuna, or Young Adult) – $275

Scholarship offerings: All scholarship rates require a minimum fee ($55/night). Scholarships are limited to TWO per calendar year for on-land retreats. And, while we are not able to offer “pay what you can”-type of scholarships for in-person retreats, they are still available for online offerings as space allows.

Room Occupancy Update**: We have double and single occupancy rooms. Many of our rooms are single occupancy (only 16 of 80 rooms are double occupancy). We offer a “guaranteed single room” rate and these will be limited (16). This rate guarantees a single room while helping to support scholarships and all we do here at Spirit Rock. The remaining single rooms are not exclusive to the top end of the sliding scale; however, they are initially prioritized for those with serious medical needs.

**Subject to change depending upon COVID-19 situation.

IMPORTANT – Details on our current COVID Safety Protocols for In-person Retreats.
