Description:
The Buddha first taught the practice of lovingkindness as a protection. On this half-day retreat, for our wide and diverse LGBTQI and GNC community, we will cultivate the beautiful quality of metta (lovingkindness). In cultivating these spacious qualities, we can find the support & refuge needed to hold all the joys and difficulties facing the complexities of our lives. The practice supports bringing forth an open, balanced and courageous heart. Together, let us lean into the potential to bring forth love and peace, even in the midst of hatred. The Buddha recognized the great power of love, stating: “Hatred never heals by hatred. Hatred is healed by love alone. This is the eternal law.”

Open to all who identify as LGBTQI and GNC (Lesbian, Gay, Bi, Trans, Queer, Questioning Intersex, Asexual, Two-Spirited, and Gender Non-Conforming). To support the retreat container, this retreat will not be open to allies.

Our time together will include periods of sitting and walking meditation, movement, written reflection, mindful self-care, connection in community, and Q&A.

All are welcome! No one will be turned away for lack of funds as space allows. For more information, please email Registration@spiritrock.org.
